In today’s What If Wednesday, I wanted to ask you what you’re holding back from. Most people have something lingering in the back of their minds, something that they’ve always wanted to do, or something they have always wanted to try. But, for some reason, they let fear, doubt, and uncertainty creep in and take over. Does that describe you? What if you ignored the naysayers, the skeptics, and the doubters and tried anyway?
Life is too short to not try. I’ve talked with and coached so many people who have an idea that could lead to something awesome, but are hesitant to try. Alternatively, I’ve met people like I wrote about last week who are following their passion and they’re succeeding at it!
In fact, one of my good friends, Jonathan, is coaching people to win with their finances. He and I talk frequently, though never enough, about what will happen when he succeeds. He is trying to change his life by changing the lives of others.
Another great friend and mentor, Jason of WowMe Nutrition, not only tried, but is succeeding at coaching people to live healthier, and coaching entrepreneurs to build their own businesses.
Would you like me to give you a formula for… success? It’s quite simple, really. Double your rate of failure. You’re thinking of failure as the enemy of success. But it isn’t at all… you can be discouraged by failure / or you can learn from it. So go ahead and make mistakes. Make all you can. Because, remember that’s where you’ll find success. On the far side. – Thomas Watson, Founder of IBM
We all stumble and we all fall; but we have to choose to pick ourselves up again. Don’t let the fear of failing keep you from trying in the first place. Tweet that!
What are you thinking about trying but are letting FUD, (fear, uncertainty, doubt) get in your way? Is it starting your own small business? Is it changing careers?
Whatever it is, I encourage you to go for it with everything you have! Think about what trying could mean for you and your family.
But more importantly, ask yourself, “What if I succeeded?
